Alcoholics Anonymous is a fellowship of people who share their experience, strength and hope with each other that they may solve their common problem and help others to recover from alcoholism.
The only requirement for membership is a desire to stop drinking. There are no dues or fees for AA membership; we are self-supporting through our own contributions. AA is not allied with any sect, denomination, politics, organization, or institution; does not wish to engage in any controversy; neither endorses nor opposes any causes. Our primary purpose is to stay sober and help other alcoholics to achieve sobriety.

As embodied in the Fourth Tradition, the formation and operation of an A.A. Group resides within the group conscience of its members. While, hopefully, every A.A. Group adheres closely to the guiding principles of the Twelve Steps and Twelve Traditions, Metrolina Intergroup Association neither monitors nor oversees the activities or practice of any A.A. group. Groups listed in the meeting schedule are listed at their own request. A listing does not constitute or imply approval or endorsement of any group’s approach to practice of the traditional A.A. program.
